How To Automate The Installation Process

The installation script can be automated by passing some parameters to /install/install.php. Both HTTP GET and HTTP POST parameters are supported. If both variants are present for a parameter then HTTP POST value will be used for that particular paramter.

Parameters For install/install.php

db_server String MySQL server hostname
db_database String MySQL server database name
db_username String MySQL server database username
db_password String MySQL server database password
db_collation String MySQL Collation e.g. utf8_swedish_ci
db_table_prefix String MySQL table prefix e.g. lc_
demo_data Boolean Must be present with a value to install demo data e.g. true
store_name String The store name
store_email String The store email address
store_time_zone String Timezone for the machine e.g. Europe/Stockholm
country_code ISO 2 letter country ISO code
admin_folder String The name of the admin folder e.g. admin (no slahes)
username String The desired admin username
password String The desired admin password
client_ip String The IP address of the admin user (to unlock error messages)
install Boolean Must be present with a value for the automation e.g. true
redirect String A URL to redirect to upon a successful installation

How To Automate The Upgrade Process

Once a new package of LiteCart have been uploaded (overwriting the existing files) the upgrade process can begin. An automated upgrade process can be achieved by passing HTTP GET or POST parameters to the upgrade script.

Parameters For install/upgrade.php

Name Type Description
(from_version) String The current version of LiteCart before upgrade. Leave empty for automatic detection.
upgrade Boolean Must be present with a value for the automation e.g. true
redirect String A URL to redirect to upon a successful installation
